INPA presents NOMADIC: Performance Art & Territoriality
hosted at Longwood Art Gallery @ Hostos
Organized and Curated by HECTOR CANONGE
The International Network of Performance Art, INPA, presents the program NOMADIC: Performance & Territoriality at **Longwood Art Gallery @ Hostos **in the borough of the Bronx on Wednesday, September 20th, from 6:00 to 9:00 PM. The program consists of live performances by local, national, and international artists, and a selection of video performances from around the globe.
As the guiding curatorial principle of this year’s program, curated by Hector Canonge, NOMADIC: Performance & Territoriality evokes the continuous displacement of performance artists around the globe and their migratory patterns to sustain their practice. NOMADIC also reflects on the corporeal challenges performance artists face as they move from one geographical space to another, and as they must adapt to temporal shifts traveling from one time zone to another. Through various modalities of corporeal expressions found in Live Art, participating artists will address notions of migration, adaptation, territoriality, and exploration in relation to corporeal expression and changing geographies.
