The Finnish Bride: Marriage to Vienna
Barefoot, I pledge a silent vow —
not to flesh and blood, but to stone and shadow.
THREE years ago, in Finland with Mark Maher
this tale began —
a whisper carried across cold winds.
In 2023, Vienna opened her doors twice to our exhibitions
Kunstraum EWIGKEITSGASSE (Alfred Woschitz und Chris Haderer) und RAUM (Grundstein Architektur und Michael Wildmann)
and AFTER I danced a performance THE FINNISH BRIDE: THE WINTER WAR together with a wonderful artist and person Victor Khashchanskiy in Helsinki’s fading light.
Then came exile — a formal, hollow decree.
I WAS kicked out of that wonderful finnish association for a very wonderful reason – “It is
clear that your performance practice is too hazardous for our
association”
Summer 2024, Walter Ulreich, my kindred spirit and eye,
returned with me to beloved streets,
to seal this strange marriage —
the Finnish Bride bound to Vienna,
a city both lover and ghost.
A ritual of longing and strength,
where past and present bleed beneath the city’s ancient gaze.
BIG THANKS AND LOVE TO ALL THE PEOPLE INVOLVED
